Who knew that many stars were visible in california nowadays, especially with all the light pollution. Beautiful shot of a spectacular night sky that many of us don't get to see as clearly anymore.
I'll say it's unusually clear! How many nights in a year do you figure it is clear this much anywhere aalong the central or northern coast ?!? This is just a great piece, Mike. I love the indigo/purplue hue in the sjy..it really augments the stars so nicely and the stars are just stupendous! Not sure what your exif was but i will guess maybe a 8 second exposure so you don't get much star-trasking...but I am a dummy when it comes to this stuff...I need to come out and have you and Senor Schilling take me on a night shot someplace!! This is just beautifu, Mike..!
A really cool image Mike. I think what makes it work for my is the diminishing perspective of the pier that leads the eye up and through the night sky. I can then return back to the little lifeguard stand as a resting point. Nice execution and processing!
